Fuzz N' Fluff Farm

                              Angora Rabbits

Angora Rabbits produce an extraordinary fiber which is excelant for hand spinning, knitting, ....and wearing!! It is extremly soft and adds exceptional fuzzy look and feel to yarns, it is great for blending with other wools and fibers.

Angora Rabbits produce approximately 11 oz. of hair every 90 days. I use my regular papper or hair sissors to shear them, Fiskars sissors work well.  The skin can easily be pulled up and cut, so you can't pull the hair up while cutting. If you have an accident, just rinse it with 3% hydrogen Peroxide, that should take care of it unless it is bigger than a 1/2 inch. You can put Aloe Vera to help it heal too.

Rabbits can have up to 16 babies at a time, they have eight teets, so some babies might be larger than others. They are about 2-4 inches long and are hairless. their eyes will open at 10-14 days of age.

Angora Rabbits in our experience are much more friendly and calm than other bunnies, they love to get their treats and will let you pet them and play with them without kicking. They are soo much fun to hold just before you shear them because they are just like a huge fuzzy, soft blanket!

Angoras cost anywhere from $75-400 depending on bloodlines, color and so forth. We sell ours for $125, they do not have any extraordinary pedigrees, but they have very good conformation, hair, temperment, and color. We mainly breed for fast growing, long soft hair.

Our bunnies are kept in a 8' by 30''  cage that is moved around our lawn every day so that they can eat all the grass they can hold and also fertilize our yard. we feed them scrap bread, pancakes, and waffles each day and as many greens , carrots, parsnips etc. as they will eat. They also enjoy clover, timothy, alfalfa or grass hay in the winter along with their rabbit pellets.

We are temperarily sold out of German Angora Bunnies. If all goes as planed we will have grey and white bunnies availble by christmas.
